The Blue Tigers have teamed up with Loaves & Fishes once again to help raise money and awareness for those in need of an extra hand this year.  

Suggested Donation: $10 or ?

We will be having dinner, so come hungery and enjoy a relaxing evening with friends and colleagues.

Blue Tigers bring the concept that "Democrats serve the people" to life. What's that look like? Fall 2009 we've been busy supporting some amazing front line organizations in Kalamazoo. 

Ministry with Community: 100+ hygiene packs; annual candle sale; collecting sample soaps, lotions, shampoos

Deacons Conference: Baskets of warm clothes, coats, socks, family size shampoos & soaps

HRI Family Shelter: Turkey, puzzles & Leap Frog for the playroom, holiday card & craft supplies

Our 2nd Annual Hunger Moon Soup Kitchen will be February 2010. Once again we'll be inviting people into our homes for a big pot of homemade soup and an opportunity to raise awareness of the urgent issue of hunger in Kalamazoo County and at the same time raise funds for Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes.

The Blue Tigers invite you to join them in  the Day of Caring Kick-Off Event on Saturday, Sept. 19th, at 9am at Boy Scout Camp, Camp Roto-Kiwan (Texas Corners). Free lunch included! Join our brothers and sisters of organized labor in a huge - and fun! - service project. We will be doing 4 D.O.C.

Playing in the dirt. That’s what KCDP Blue Tigers are doing as our Square Foot Urban Garden community service project takes root and blossoms.

Blue Tigers is all about building strong communities. A focus this year has been to address the urgent issue of hunger, starting in February with our Hunger Moon project to support Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.   With the arrival of growing season, helping families move from food insecurity to resilience and empowerment by growing food is a next step.

Please join the Blue Tigers prepare for our Community Garden Project!

The Blue Tigers will be setting up small 4x6 ft gardens in specific locations as part of a community project, but we need your help.  This is a great way to give back to the community and help others experience a small garden of their own.

We will be handing out directions, garden locations and supplies, and scheduling furture days to garden, so stop in the see what all the fun is about!
